Lizardo Herrera - Colombia
This fun coffee is produced by Lizardo Herrera. Lizardo is a producer based in Palestina in the southern part of the Huila department in Colombia. This lot is Rosado variety, more commonly know as Pink Bourbon. The reason why we call it Rosado here is that Rosado is a local name for the variety and in fact it is Colombia variety and not Bourbon. The coffee cherries produced by this variation of Colombia variety produce cherries with pink or orange hue.
The coffee is processed as Washed but with an extended fermentation both in cherry and in the fermentation tank. This all creates a very complex and fruit forward and juicy cup.
This coffee is from our partner LaREB (La Real Expedición Botánica) who we buy exclusively from in Colombia.
We found this coffee to be very complex and juicy. Tasting really sweet with notes of orange and stone fruits, very high in both acidity and sweetness. There is also some captivating herbalness to the aroma, much like blackcurrant leaf perhaps little hoppy.
