Mario Moreno
This fun coffee is produced by Mario Moreno at the farm Piedras Amarillas, based in Santa Barbara, Honduras. This lot is Pacas variety produced by Mario Moreno, brother to Danny Moreno whose coffee we have also bought for the past 3 years already.
For us the coffees that we have bought and sampled from the producers from Santa Barbara have been outstanding in quality. This washed Pacas from Mario has all the key things we love about the flavour profile from Santa Barbara. Just really really well produced, clean, amazingly complex and tasty coffee. What sets Mario's lot here apart from his brother Danny's is the lightly creamy mouthfeel and distinct clear yellow fruits in cup. This lot from 2022 is very transparent, clear and vibrant with great acidity.
We found this coffee to be very clean and bright. Tasting really sweet and aromatic and vanilla like, with notes of peach and apricot in particular, paired with high acidity and soft, silky mouthfeel and great complexity with pleasant fruity aftertaste.
